Welcome to our newly expanded Dragon & Tiger online home study program. Since we first launched this program over 1,200 people have taken the course, and their reviews back consistently have been highly positive. Dragon Tiger Gate is a 2006 Hong Kong martial arts-action film directed by Wilson Yip and featuring fight choreography by Donnie Yen, who also stars in the film. The film is based on the popular Hong Kong manhua, Oriental Heroes, which bears the same Chinese name as the movie.

Dragon and Tiger Qigong is a set of seven invigorating-yet-calming, gentle flowing exercises.

You move your hands through your energy field just outside your body to clear and stimulate your acupuncture meridians.

The exercises help you to release stress and pain and develop flexibility.

They have been used in China for purposes ranging from developing more energy for meditation to treating cancer.

This 7-week course - open to anyone, anywhere - is an excellent chance for you to sample our qigong practices.

You'll learn about qigong in general, and experience how qigong practice can help you relax and soothe your body and mind, and feel, raise, and balance your chi.

You’ll learn a qigong sequence that you can practice and benefit from for the rest of your life.

We'll teach you a series of exercises organized by our teacher, Taoist Lineage Master Bruce Frantzis, which he calls 'Five Energy Exercises for Life.'
The exercises are drawn from the Dragon & Tiger, Energy Gates, and Taoist Breathing qigong sets that we teach.

You'll learn the exercises as a sequence that only takes ten minutes to do, but can be extended for longer periods of practice if you desire. They require no special clothes or props, and can be modified to be done sitting or standing.

You'll also learn fundamental postural, movement and energetic principles that will provide a solid foundation for further study of qigong or tai chi.

To learn Dragon & Tiger qigong with us you first take our two seven-week Introduction courses. Then you can join at the beginning of any session one of our Refinements Series 1 courses. You can then take these courses until you are ready to move on to our Refinements Series 2 courses.
One of the beauties of Dragon & Tiger qigong is that you can study and practice at any level and gain benefits. And the more you advance, the more benefits you gain. But there's no hurry to get anywhere; every little bit that you deepen your practice gives you a richer experience.

Introductory Courses

In our Introduction to Dragon & Tiger Qigong courses, Parts 1 and 2, we teach the basic shape of the movements, along with foundational alignment and movement principles.
Refinements Series 1
In these courses you advance your study of both the physical and the energetic components of Dragon & Tiger qigong.

Physically, we focus on relaxing, opening, and balancing your physical body. Physical development is very important because your life energy flows through your physical body like a river flows in its channel. If the river's channel is deep, wide, and stable, then it can swell enormously and still follow its proper course. If not, when the river rises, it quickly overruns its banks and is lost.
Energetically, you learn to better feel energy between your hands and each part of your body that you trace over in the movements. We teach specific methods for learning to feel your chi as it flows in your hands, along your body, and in the field that surrounds you. The better that you can feel your life energy, the easier it is to develop it more fully.
Each session we focus on a different subject, such as: Lively Hands; Agile Feet; Release Your Hips, Lower Back & Legs; Loosen Your Neck & Shoulders; and Breath & Energy.
Refinements Series 2
Our Series 2 courses also are organized so that you can take them in any order that you like.
The major Series 2 themes are to learn how to use the exercises to:

  • gain clear and stable physical balance dynamically in all exercises

  • gain greater continuity and flow, both physically and energetically

  • develop deeper, longer, more relaxed, and continuous breaths

  • circle every joint of your upper body continuously

  • consciously turn and connect all of the muscles of your arms and upper back and chest

  • deeply relax and release all the muscles of your legs, feet, and lower back

  • consciously turn and connect all of the muscles of your legs

  • relax and release your eyes

Your energy development goal at this level is to acquire the ability to maintain continuous awareness of energy on the surface of your skin as you trace the energy pathways in each exercise.
Through supplemental exercises you learn how to push and pull chi with your hands along the energy pathways of key sections of your body.

Refinement Series 3

Dragon Tiger Online Game

Our Series 3course also are organized so that you can take them in any order that you like.

We teach you how you can:

  • balance your chi within all exercises and through the entire set, including transitions

  • consciously turn the muscles of your arms and legs to move all parts of your body as one

  • explore the 'gears' of your upper body and how they all work together

  • explore the 'body gears' of your lower body and how they affect your upper body gears

  • extend and elongate your breathing and chi flows, and let your breath become softer, more quiet, stable, and circular

  • better and more clearly connect to the energies of earth below you and heaven above you

  • draw in energy from and release energy to the earth below, heavens above, and environment around you

  • use the seven movements to more strongly and fully circulate blood throughout your body

  • bring energy into and release energy from your eyes

  • pull and push energy with your feet to bring them fully alive

  • use your chi to move your physical body

Your energy development goals are to learn to:

  1. 'push' and 'pull' energy with your hands in an unbroken fashion along the skin of your physical body. This should be done so that your energy flows continuously in every movement to and from the top, bottom, and sides of your chi (or etheric) body.

  2. 'push' and 'pull' energy in and out of your feet continuously in every movement to and from the bottom of your chi body.

The game of Dragon Tiger attracts mostly Asian players in land based casinos, but when playing online, any player can enjoy the fast action of the game and can also enjoy a live dealer presentation in real time. Dragon Tiger is played with a standard deck of cards and the game usually used between 6 and 8 decks in a shoe. With this game, players will not play against the dealer. It is similar to Baccarat and players will choose which hand will be likely to receive the highest card. Some players will compare this to Casino War, since a single card is dealt to the Dragon as well as to the Tiger and no additional cards are drawn.

Basic Rules and How to Play

To enjoy the game, players will place their real money bets on the Dragon or the Tiger. The player will then wait for the live dealer to place the cards on the table, both of which will be revealed face up. There are no further actions in the game. The highest card will win. However, there are two rules that are in play. All aces are low cards and if both spots receive the same value card, the hand is a tie and the house will take half of every wager that has been placed. Other than that, the game is straight forward and very easy to play. There are no special rules and no skills that are required to enjoy Dragon Tiger. Players will simply guess which spot will receive the highest card on the deal.

Player Moves

Players have limited moves when playing this live dealer game and they can place their bets on the Dragon or the Tiger spit. Whichever has the highest card will be the winner and payouts are offered accordingly. There are also tie bets that can be placed which will bet on whether the two revealed cards will be of equal value. The payout for this bet is 8:1, just like with Baccarat. However, tie bets offer the casino a huge edge at 32.7%, so this bet is best avoided.

Bog and Small bets can also be placed with Dragon Tiger and players will wager on whether the Dragon or the Tiger spot will be Big, over 7, or Small, under 7. This wager will lose if either spot is a 7.

Dragon Tiger Suit Bets and Strategies

There is one more bet that can be placed on the game and this is the suit bet. With this, the wager will pay 3:1 if a correct suit is selected. Players will choose either the Dragon or the Tiger hand and guess which suit the revealed card will be. Like other bets in the game, the casino will take all wagers if a seven is revealed.

Dragon Tiger Gate Watch Online

There are very few strategies that can be employed when playing live Dragon Tiger. It is possible to count cards like in Blackjack, but since minimal cards are used in each hand, this can be a daunting task. Players can have a slight advantage if they seek out a live dealer casino that is using a 6 deck shoe as there are fewer cards that will be in play, making it possible to count cards and choose the right bets at the table. In regards to suit bets, players should watch the suits that are in play for each hand. If three of the four suits have appeared more often than a single suit, this is a good time to place a bet on that single suit, increasing the chances of winning this site bet.
